Camden Grandview has several Indian families around and it is close (5-10 minute walk) to Dilworth Elementary. 2 bedrooms start around $1200. You might check the zoning maps though. Some other kids uptown are zoned for First Ward Elementary, which isn't as good as Dilworth Elementary.

The Dilworth neighborhood also has many private house/apartment rentals available but you'd have to do some looking.

First Ward is an arts magnet. Kids previously zoned for First Ward are zoned for either Dilworth or Eastover Elementaries. Other parts of uptown may be zoned for another elementary school.

Good catch. That is good news for uptown families, I think. Eastover has an even better reputation than Dilworth.

Even better news for uptown families, at least for now, is that that all kids @ Eastover and Dilworth will go to Alexander Graham Middle School. This year, those zoned in the old First Ward area would go to Spaugh Middle.

Dilworth is new as a neighborhood school this year and is very good, as is Eastover.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions , these are really helpful. Could you please provide some similar suggestions on South Charlotte as well. ( apartment and commute to Uptown). While surfing the net I found people say good about schools in South Charlotte. May be this can another option to stay if commute is not too difficult to uptown ( which will be my work place)...Thanks a lot once again
