Hello all! I am moving to Charlotte next week for a contract at Microsoft. I'm moving from Raleigh, so please don't brand me as another person moving to CLT from out of state . The process has happened so quickly that I haven't had a chance to secure housing before I move, so I am trying to find a decent hotel or one of those extended stay places where I can stay for a week or two while I look for a place to rent. I've already done the typical google searches and I've found a few places, but I would love to hear from anyone who has had direct experience (good or bad) with any of the hotels near Microsoft/Arrowood area. I'm not incredibly picky, although cleanliness and safety of hotel area are at the top of my requirements list. Any info or recommendations you may have would be greatly appreciated!

So your looking for a kitchen with plates, pots & pans etc? or just a nice place thats comfy and has free breakfast etc...?
I swear by Trip Advisor. I never ever book a hotel without reading the reviews, feedback and user photos. Its never steered me wrong.
A nice place that's comfy and breakfast is all I need. I'm pretty easy to please, and I don't mind living on take out for dinner for a little while. Thanks so much for the Trip Advisor tip. I'm off to check it out now.
I'd have to agree with the Trip Advisor tip. I use it all the time and the best thing is that regular people file their reviews...many times with photos. It has saved me from some bad experiences!
The area around Microsoft is somewhat sketchy at times. So, this would be a good resource to see what is the best for your needs.
Staybridge Suites
7924 FOREST PINE DRIVE
CHARLOTTE, NC 28273
Stayed here numerous times, clean and safe location. Rate about $80 per night.
My wife used to stay there a lot before we moved down here. Loved it. they have great breakfast and server a little dinner most days through the week. For those who drink, they even have free beer on tap three or four days a week in the evening during the week.
I have stayed there with her a few times too. It's great.
Ive always heard good things about Staybridge Suites. Im not a fan of the "Extended Stay" brand, as its the one place I didnt have a great experience, and the second time i tried them, it was average at best.
Thanks for the feedback everyone, it is much appreciated. I think I will give Staybridge Suites a try. Now it's time to look for a rental. Any tips on which areas would provide the easiest commute (ie, going against traffic)? Again, I'm not terribly picky as long as it's a safe area. I don't have kids so schools aren't an issue. Night life doesn't matter to me either. As long as I'm relatively close to grocery stores, banks, and maybe Target and a restaurant or two I will be perfectly content. Thanks again!
Does it need to be in Charlotte or can it be across the border in SC?
