Just need a bit of advice here about the neighborhoods. First of all, please don’t hate me (saw a thread about bunch of local people being unhappy about all the newcomers)-we are moving because my husband got transferred here and will only be in Charlotte for a few years. We are looking to rent a house or a condo in a very safe area, family friendly with sidewalks and a lot to do. My husband will be working in Harrisburg and South Charlotte. Was wondering what would be a good area for us to look at. I was looking at Concord, Huntersville, Matthews and South Charlotte. Here is what’s confusing me: when I checked out the crime rates for all those areas, it seems there is 10 times more violence compared to the area that we currently live at. Last time we visited Charlotte (and all the areas I listed above) it looked pretty safe and well kept. Am I misreading something?
