"Charlotte home prices hit new low" - Charlotte Observer 2/22/11

Charlotte home prices hit new low - CharlotteObserver.com (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/02/22/2082875/charlotte-home-prices-hit-new.html - broken link)

"Charlotte prices fell for the second month in a row to their lowest level since home prices peaked in 2006 and 2007. Ten other metro areas experienced record lows in December. Nationally, home prices are back to their early 2003 levels and are close to their 2009 trough."

"The Charlotte area performed better in December than some other metros - Detroit home prices, for instance.."

It's pretty sad when you have to look at Detriot to find a metro area that performed worse than Charlotte.

Detroit homes are selling for less than the building materials are worth. I'm beginning to think that's the way it is in my hood after this reval.

Not according to me revaluation. My home price is up over 34% since 2003 but the last one that sold was in the 2003 range.

That is part of the problem. Maybe there is a disconnect with some of the reevalutions done by the county.

The banks provide this data to various government agencies and maybe some think tank type groups... It's out there, just need to know how to get your hands on it.
