Hello all, I'm new to this forum, but found some useful threads about Charlotte (specifically apartment living around town) and figured I'd ask for some advice/tips.

My fiance and I are looking at apartments around Charlotte, and are looking to rent. We're looking in the $6-800 range (or less if the area's good!) for a 1-bedroom/1 bathroom in a good part of town. We don't really have a preference in location, just that its not terribly out of the way. So far, we've looked at the Camden Habersham, and Bexley at Matthews. Do you have suggestions or recommendations in the area? We're getting married in May, and I'm moving in before the wedding (roughly a week before.).

Thanks in advance,
seventhwhite

What part of the metro are your jobs located in?

Providence Court: Providence Court - Apartments for Rent in Charlotte , NC | Home
Beverly Crest (free cable): Colonial Grand at Beverly Crest | Charlotte, NC
Legacy Arboretum: Legacy Arboretum - Charlotte Apartments for Rent || Legacy Aboretum
Arboretum: Simpson Property Group | Dwell in Satisfaction

Not because I reside there, but Providence Court is the better of all those I mention. The others are nice as well. I like the free cable at Beverly Crest and the option of choosing your paint color.

@lovesMountains I'm still working on the job situation, and my fiance currently works at Metrolina Christian Academy in Indian Trail. I'm used to living in a rural part of Florida, where everything is about 45 mins away, so I'm not too worried about driving a bit if need be, but I like the convenience of Charlotte.

@Brooklyn_QueenBee I know my fiance had mentioned the Arboretum a couple of times, and I think we're checking them out tomorrow. I like the free cable option too, as the Camden Habersham had it included in the rent (but I'd rather just opt out of the cable and knock off $45 a month).

In that case, I second the suggestions made by the QueenBee

Thanks. We'll be sure to check them out tomorrow. Perhaps this is a newbie question, but how much should I be expecting in terms of utilities? I know this varies from renter to renter, but is there a ball park figure I could work with when budgeting out?
