ok people, with time ticking down and credit not being the greatest. I had to accept who would take me in for now and accept my money. At least so I can have some place to live.
I can see Properties in Charlotte aren't so accepting . They just rely ona computer to decide yay or nay...
Within 12 months my credit should be stellar.
I was approved for an apartment over on N. Wendover Road. I've never been there. I've read some reviews bout Wendover Glen. Not too pleasing, but it will work for now.
Can someone give me some feedback on this community, please? I know they are undergoing renovations.
Any real time photos that people near that are can take for me and show me....
I accepted a 1BR and then will move into a 2BR once the renovation is done...
I also need to know if anyone knows of some good and decent car dealers...or independent sellers, besides CarMax. I will get my ride once I arrive in Charlotte
I live up the street from there and that is a rough area. For the right person, it may not be so bad. Maybe you're the right person. I don't know you, so I can't say. If you can handle yourself and aren't intimidated easily, then you shouldn't have much of a problem. I'd worry about footing it over there. I've been robbed at gunpoint close to there while walking, but that was almost 14 years ago, so I can't say what the odds are now.
There are a few small time car dealers around there. One up on Monroe Rd and a few on Independence Blvd.
Oh really? And you're still there after that? I'm from a rough area in Brooklyn and live in the hood here in East Orange NJ...and if that happened to me, I'd be outta there real fast!
I'm not intimidated real easy by "hood" areas, but I don't wish to stay there forever. After the first year, I will leave. It's not what I want my transition to be about. From hood to hood. I want better for myself. And I will have it.
Thanks for the info on car dealers..I will check them and see what they are about. But I've read the reviews. I guess it depends on what's rough to you...Do they still rob people at gun point? That's ROUGH!
I've read about someone getting their door kicked in at that "shelter" place 920 up the street or whatever...Not sure how true that is, but it's real interesting.
OH Well, it's what is available to me at this point.

Not sure what you want us to tell you at this point?
Sounds like you've already made up your mind and nothing we can say is going to make you feel better I'm afraid.
But hey, since you are from Brooklyn I'm betting you'll be fine
Well, maybe you can talk to some of your top notch friends and convince them to take a chance on me renting from them and to accept my money....it's not like I'm poison. But they sure act like it down there....LOL

The rental market is tight here.
Property managers can afford to be choosy, and good for them.
Some people with bad credit histories also have other bad histories like drug use and other criminal activities. I'm sure you are not in that group, but it only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole bunch unfortunately.
In a year you'll be in much better shape and can be more choosey yourself

Besides getting robbed, I haven't had too much problems over there. I know some people get scared of that kind of thing, so that's why I warned you. Across the way from Wendover Walk is Grier Heights, which is one of the roughest areas of town. I assume you'll be on foot a lot since you don't have a car yet, so just be safe and carry some protection. That area is actually really mixed economically, so there are some very nice spots close to there. If you have the wits I think you do, then you'll be able to figure out which spots to avoid as soon as you go there.
I think that area is generally OK. Not far from there are some of the most expensive neighborhoods in Charlotte. The biggest issue for most will be the projects (Grier Heights) but I don't think it causes a lot of issues for the area.
