This guy from the Observer is either too young to really know Prince, or he's just a terrible concert reviewer. That show last night was incredible. And Prince did nothing but his old music in the entire first half of the show. It was a really great concert.
the articles been edited, but it originally stated that Prince covered Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2U" all credibilty as a Prince fan and lover of music in general was lost right there. Here are some better reviews:

It was a great concert but I'm a old schoolfan. Did I want him to perform more of my favorites? Sure. Did I want him to do more uptempo stuff like the Purple Rain, Sign of the Times/Love Sexy Tours? Sure. Did I want to dance for 3 hours straight - sure.
But hey -- My 16 year old concert going self is not the same chick as my 43 year old self. I certainly didn't expect Prince to give the same type of show I saw 27 years ago.
It was great. Awesome time! If I didn't have two kids under two at home, I would have tried to make the Columbia and Greensboro concerts too. Oh well, I'll leave that behavior to the youger set!
