I am in desperate need for a good, reliable cleaning person. My current cleaner failed to show up again today, and I am frustrated! So, I am on the search for a new one.

All I need is once a month. The current cleaners charge $75.

Anybody have any recomendations???

lisa,
would you mind sending me the info as well? I feel like I'm chasing my own tail trying to keep up with the cleaning of this house.
Thanks!

Some time back (when this question came up before) I was able to get the information from lisaf to give to my parents. Let me tell you...my parents have been tickled pink with the (cleaning) services...thanks once again lisaf for sharing

I'm glad this came up. I'd like the info also. I do have a few questions. Do they come to the house when you're not home? If so, do you give them a key and the code to the alarm?

I happen to work from home, so she shows up when I'm there typically. However, a bunch of times I've had to leave to go to an appointment, or she's come while I'm not there. I've never had a single incident with anything missing in the 2 years she's worked with me. I tell her that I'll leave the key in X spot for her to get in, or for her leave it in X spot when she's done--and I just leave the money I owe her in the house for her to take.

Truthfully, I'm not a fan of leaving people in my house while I'm not there, but I trust this person completely because she has proven to me that she can be left alone and she still does the work in the same manner as if I was there. I've had people previously who told me it took them X hours to do the work, and charged me accordingly--and then I'd come home early from work and discover that they were long gone way before the end time.

The toughest thing is to get someone to show up consistently on the day/time you set. I've had people who were constantly changing days on me for one reason or another, showing up late, or canceling last minute. This woman has never done any of that to me in the years she's helped me out.

I'll PM you her info.

We've used a service (Tidy Home) and an individual. We've found a service is more reliable than a person, as they have a back up to come if your 'main' cleaner does not come. To me, it is worth every dollar to have them come regularly. Make sure, whichever you use, that they are licensed and bonded.
