As predicted. Thank goodness for the forward thinking leaders here in NC

"Money for Charlotte's light rail extension is back in the state budget after a long weekend of negotiations and lobbying.

The new version of the Senate budget unveiled today has $28 million for a transportation fund that would help pay to start extending the Blue Line from uptown to UNC Charlotte.

It also removes language that would have barred spending state money on the proposed commuter rail through North Mecklenburg."

I am glad of that! I'm also glad that the NC Republicans don't let party politics get in the way of the better good!

I was glad to hear this also because it was to helpful to Charlotte to cut. I was so unhappy it had been cut I emailed every member of the state senate and house along with Gov. Perdue in an effort to get it back in the budget.
