Microtel Locations...I have also changed my criteria as far as a kitchenette being a must so I have been looking into Microtel...here are the locations...

NORTH CHARLOTTE
1111 West Sugarcreek Road
Charlotte, NC 28269 US

NORTHLAKE

6309 Banner Elk Drive

UNIVERSITY
132 McCollough Drive

I have stayed in Microtel before and really felt like it was really nice for how much it cost.

Yikes - well, of the 3 I'd go with University but I'm not crazy about having to do that. Definitely avoid the one in north Charlotte though.

Here's the thing to understand about Charlotte - it is a very suburban city, with the exception of uptown Charlotte itself which does have a more urban feel (though nothing like NYC, Chicago, Boston, ect).

All the areas you are looking at are basically "in the city", and no, you don't need to get away from the city. You just need to be choosy about which parts of the city you stay in Charlotte is very spread out, and uptown is at its center core, but there are many other sections of the city where companies, manufacturers, businesses in general are located all around.

Matthews and Pineville are good locations because of their access to major roads (like I485) for getting around the rest of the city. And they are nice areas. Did you not like the Suburban Extended Stay I posted the link for (in Pineville)?
