I am very dissatisfied with my current primary care physician and am looking for a new one. Current doctor is pleasant enough but seems to be working a patient mill - doesn't listen to my issues fully and appears to just be interested in writing a precription and moving on.

I am a male in early 40's, live in Steele Creek and work off Tyvola near former coliseum. My insurance seems to cover physicians in the area. Am willing to drive to Pineville, prefer not to go to uptown, Southpark or Ballantyne. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I had a really good experience with Alfa medical. It's a small practice with one doctor and several good nurses. I won't go into detail about personal medical stuff on a public board, but I will say that Dr. Obeng definitely listened to me, wanted to get to the bottom of things, and said right away he didn't want to prescribe drugs if more holistic measures worked. The office is in that little office strip on Arrowood across from Whitehall Commons.

Thanks for the recommendations. Both of these are covered by my insurance.
I've been here 9 years and have had surprisingly mixed results with doctors. I saw one specialist who was amazing - great care, awesome staff, and great overall demeanor with patients and staff. I've seen a few really good urgent care doctors and PA's. My stepson had awesome ortho care, urgent care, and surgical care for a torn ACL. On the other hand, I had one awful primary care physician, an ortho who was not much help, and my current primary care who just seems to be going through the motions.
