I agree w/ others - $400 sounds way to excessive for a young person to come up with.

Don't assume that she is in "school". Most times part of your probation is to attend some type of class in relation to your issue.

Oh. Gotcha. I don't really know much about how that system works.

Is the $400 for probation only or is it perhaps restitution that must be paid each month as part of her probation?

Classes may be part of what the 400 bones a month is for, too. A friend of mine had to attend classes for certain things as mandated by the court and he had to pay for them. They were crazy $$$ too.

It could be OP meant $400 a year. 12 x $30 = $420.

Hey East Coast, it's 420.

I think making some convicts pay some/all of their expenses is a great idea. And there should be tests for mandated classes.

The free ride has got to stop somewhere.

Second on George Laughrun attorney. Never needed him, but know people who have worked with him (no, not as defendants) and he's held in high regard in legal circles. As for the $400 - what is THAT about? If she can't afford it, she needs to go before a judge and throw herself on the mercy of the court. And, why is she spending money on drugs when she knows it could get her in trouble. She needs to grow up. Sounds like she's trying.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

Maybe we should ask the person or people who had a gun pointed at their face during the armed robbery what they think about this.
