anyone move from NY (LI or 5 Boroughs) to any cities near/around Charlotte?

Is that "2 hours just to get off LI" by rickshaw or walking? Just asking because I don't live on LI..

You have to leave the Island by a limited number of bridges/tunnels to choose from and to get to any of those bridges/tunnels you have to go through at least 2 of the NYC boroughs (pick your poison which ones). You typically will dodge Manhattan (for obvious reasons) so people will typically go Queens / Bronx or Brooklyn / Staten Island to get on the "main land".

Depending what time you try this, you couldn't imagine the pain.

How true. I am actually going up to the Island on Thursday and dread the drive from Staten Island to Lake Grove. Don't mind the drive from Indian Trail to Staten Island.
