50 year-old female and single in Charlotte. Are there 50 year-old men here? (Shelby: to live, restaurants)

I am a single, middle-aged female who is healthy, successful, attractive and educated. When I go out to live music venues or to grab a drink or have dinner with friends, I run into much younger people in their 20's and 30's and while that is fine for the most part, it would be nice to find single men in my age-group of 45-55. Any ideas where like-minded single men in this age-group hang out or are they all married? Thanks for any suggestions or ideas.

Here , everyone in that age group is at least 92% married , or have involvements with someone. This city is set on overdrive in regards to family lifestyles , suburbia with soccermoms , minivans , SMUAVS , and the other perks of the lifestyle. I'm sure some exist , but you may wish to look elsewhere. Some families , at 50 , have grandkids. I think the majority marry at 19-23 , and barring divorce , or immaturity leading to strife , remain so until the end. Good luck.

Go to Do something, Learn something, Share something, Change something - Meetup and a search for singles in zip code 28202. There are many singles groups that cater to what you are looking for. These groups hold get togethers at restaurants, have outings, etc.

If you're looking for something more like a "dating" site I really recommend Match.com® | The Leading Online Dating Site for Singles & Personals. Met my wife there 8 years ago.

Find a high priced place to go have a drink or 2. Expensive places usually deter the younger crowd. Since I am married with 3 young kids, I don't have any ideas where these places are.

And then there's always the church singles groups if you are into that.

Thanks for the replies so far. I have done the match.com thing and talked to many guys , but found their profiles rarely matched who they really were as in outdated photos, etc. (sigh) That's why I was hoping to actually go to places where you actually meet people upfront and not waste time via emails and profiles (double sigh)

Apparently, they're in Gaston & Cleveland Counties. I'm older than you, but in the same age-range. I'm currently unattached.

I talk to people in stores &, on a semi-regular basis, I'm asked out. The most recent was in Lowes, in Shelby.
