Ok so all you familiar with the heck that is 485 would you rather take 485 from Mint Hill to Nations Ford/51 area or just go straight down 51? We are probably talking prime commuting hours, trying to arrive around 8:30 or 9 AM and coming home around 5:30 PM. Any & all opinions appreciated.

I'd take 485 to 51 then go to Nations Ford. That is not based on any experience it just feels like it would be a better option since you are staying away from the really bad chokepoint of 485/77.

Depends on the day. 485 could easily be backed up to Johnston or Rea Road at that time of the morning.
