Surprised not to see a weather/storm related thread considering the amount of flooding we got Friday afternoon.

WSOC was doing a live spot for ABC World News and my mom called to tell me to stay in even though it had stopped raining 6 hours earlier

There is a woman reported as dead that according to WSOC was a shoplifting suspect at Burlington Coat Factory. Security chased the woman and her daughter and some how they all ended up in the creek where the woman died. The daughter has not been found yet.

They found the woman because she had an electronic monitoring device because she was just let out of jail for robbery in July.

Everytime I try to come up with some clever commentary on the subject I fail.

I'm sticking with "sad" as the major thought here but it could go much deeper than that.

So long as that last line was intentional this was above "fail" status.

Can we guess if attorneys are lining up for the family to sue Burlington Coat Factory for a "wrongful death"?

I'd guess that's a slam-dunk. Maybe we could guess how soon the suit hits.

I really hate to act the troll, but to be honest, when I first read about that, I couldn't help but think that's one less criminal society has to worry about.

You won't catch any flak from me. I don't wish death on anyone...well...maybe a few people. But if you're stealing from a store while wearing a locator anklet, then you're just about hopeless.
