Hi Everyone!

I'm a young professional that just took a job in downtown. I currently live with my parents in Union County (NC) since I have just graduated from college and am transitioning into the work world. I've been looking at apartments for me to move into on my own, and plan on doing so around the new year. I've narrowed it down to Camden Habersham or The Retreat at McAlpine Creek. I chose these two because of their affordability, I'd like to keep my rent under $700 for a 1br, and their central location. I work from home most days, so proximity to downtown isn't a huge issue for me. Also, they allow dogs, and I have a 60lb non-aggressive breed. Since I grew up in Union County I'm pretty familiar with the good and bad sides of town, mainly what I'm looking for is if anyone has any personal experiences with either of these. Or if you have any other recommendations I'm open to those too!

Thanks in advance for your help!!

I lived at Camden Habersham for a long time, even before Camden took it over. I liked the location a lot and the staff was very attentive. I still have a neighbor friend over there I keep in touch with and she says the same staff is still there. Camden has fairly high standards of how they maintain their property. One really good thing about the setup I liked is that they did not mix 1 & 2 bedrooms units in the same buildings like so many builders do today. My building and the ones surrounding me were all 1 bedroom units, which meant you typically did not have a bunch of kids running around near you. Most people were single or couples. They grouped the 2 & 3 bedroom units near the clubhouse, and the 1 bedroom units further back. Great setup, IMO.
