Commuting from Greenville, SC to Tryon, NC?? (Wade: houses, university)

Looking at relocating for my husband's job, haven't had the chance to get out there yet as it's not quite to that stage in planning yet. Looking at houses, wondering what the commute is like from the Bob Jones University/downtown airport area to Tryon, NC? Google maps says 33 miles and 49 minutes, is that accurate? Looking for someone who's made the drive, or is familiar with the area, I know miles vs traffic/lights etc can make a big difference in time.

You are looking at a 40 minute drive from Greenville to Tryon. Most of your traffic will be Wade Hampton Boulevard (US-29) from Greenville to Greer. Taking SC-14 to Landrum, then US-176 to Tryon, you can make up some time.

There is a side road before Landrum, North Blackstock Road, that takes you from SC-14 to US-176. That can shave about 3 or 4 miles off your drive.
