I was out shopping today and lord there already artificial Christmas trees on display for sale. Who puts a tree up this early.

I was riding through Lynch, Kentucky Labor Day week and the town has it Christmas decorations that hang on light poles up.

Can we at least get past Halloween.

I wonder how long before the commercials and 24 hour Christmas music radio stations start?

That's just crazy. Since the government seems to be deadlocked on most issues, I propose they pass a law making it illegal to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving! Think of the revenue they could generate fining people for non-compliance. Budget deficit solved!!

As I was riding thru Lynch I was wondering since it such a economic depressed area maybe the decorations was up from last year due to budget cuts.

Interesting idea though.

I remember reading a article saying Christmas may be advertised early due to a sluggage economy.

Garden Ridge sets up Christmas in August. That's insane IMO. Nordstrom on the other hand, doesn't decorate until after Thanksgiving.

Yup, I was at the Dollar store last week and they had their Christmas stuff out all ready. The window for Christmas buying is so short, that stores want to get a head start. They prefer to run out of Christmas stuff than to get stuck with stock.

Being someone in the retail industry I can say that the amount of complaints that run through a Corporate Office from consumers when you do not have it out early is crazy. I agree it is way to early but the numbers are there to support the early Christmas sales. I think alot of people are closet early Christmas shoppers. They say it is to early but will do the impulse buy if they see something they like. Just tryin to justify it. I know my DW would.

I have no problem buying gifts early heck I have done it in the past taking advantage of Summer clearances, tax holidays to knock off buying a few gifts
but Christmas trees & decor I do not understand.
Do they go home and set this stuff up now or are they hoarders.
They are paying full price why not wait til these items go on sale.

I havent even figure what to Halloween weekend yet.
