Just read this story: Search for CMS chief adds up | CharlotteObserver.com & The Charlotte Observer Newspaper

Seriously? With major budget cuts in CMS every year, we have this kind of money to throw around?

I don't buy the wanting to feel the "community pulse" stuff, either. They are just working to justify hiring another Broad Foundation trained candidate with little or no experience in the classroom. The search agency that they are using has strong ties to standardized testing and the Broad Foundation. They already know what they're looking for. Surveys and research might be useful if they were unbiased, but this is just another waste of money.

Wow...you're lucky. In CT they pay supers twice that or more! It's borderline criminal.

That's not the salary, that's how much they've spent so far in searching for a candidate for the job.

I agree w/you, OP, we need an educator in that position, not another Broad graduate.

They are paying this type of cash just to find a replacement...

Seems like they approved only $56,500 to fund this dog and pony show, they are already way above that.

Oh, my bad. Sorry.

Interesting to see pubic sector criminals don't just exist in the Northeastern states.

There are many contingency firms who specialize in school administrators, teachers, etc. The city decided to hire an out of state retained firm who are able to overcharge.
