I am meeting my husband in Charlotte this weekend to check out some areas, mainly Dilworth, NODA, etc. We will have a rental car. Can anyone suggest a non-chain restaurant with a great breakfast/brunch menu? Thanks in advance!

300 East - A good brunch in Dilworth.

These are our two favorite brunch places.

The Liberty on South Blvd: The Liberty

George's near SouthPark: Georges Brasserie | French Restaurant | Charlotte NC

The Liberty is right around the edge of Dilworth. George's would be a short drive but the food is excellent (and they have bottomless mimosas).

Run, do not walk to Toast at Dilworth. It just opened up but the original in Davidson is to die for. You will love it - the best brunch around.

I also think 300 east and Toast are great options. Cantina 1511 also has a nice brunch if you want something a little different (Mexican style brunch).

The original was in Huntersville, wasn't it?

Pewter Rose is pretty good as well - Bananas Foster French Toast...Nom!

Someone mentioned Cantina 1511 - decent food, never been there for brunch, but I think the OP was looking for a non-chain.
