I'm subscribed to TWC Internet Turbo speed connection that advertises at 20 mbps. However, i'm currently getting (based on THEIR speed test) 8mbps, yesterday 12 mbps (which seems normal). Wondering what others are seeing. I have a high quality router, modem etc. What are other seeing?

speed test link below:

Speed Test | Time Warner Cable

I just got Turbo today and after it was installed I was getting ~22 down and 1.9 up. I just checked and am getting ~12 down and 1.9 up. You have to remember that with cable the more homes online in the area will affect the speed, so during high usage times your speed will vary.

Just did the test 3 times:

Down Up

24.45 1.94

21.25 1.95

23.20 1.95

26 to 53 ping

I've had Turbo for months and although I can't tell you exactly how fast it is at a given time, it was and is noticeably faster than regular TWC internet.

I had wondered if there is something faster than mine. TWC has checked my line before and said I have good service, it tests out at 6 to 10 megabit. But I've wanted to get more.

I have RR Extreme 30 Mbps and cut the cord for cable TV. After we cut off cable TV, our internet started to slow down to a crawling 1 Mbps and I've been on the phone with TWC serveral times, at first they said it was my router, and the second time they reset the modem from their end and said my signal was off. However I solved the problem myself, even though we no longer have TWC for TV, the outlet had a splitter with one going into the TV and one for the modem, and we still get some channels like broadcast channels and our HDTV picks it up and a few scrambled channels. Once I removed the splitter and plug the modem straight into the wall outlet, it was fine again.

I get on average 22-26 and has gotten up to 32 down in the middle of the night. I never get over 2.5 up. I pay for the 30 so basically I don't get what I pay for and they are constantly trying to get me to upgrade to 50. After being with TWC for internet 8 straight years I am moving to AT&T for cheaper service this week, just hope it isn't a mistake.

We also cut the cable a couple years ago and love it. Streaming and broadcast satisfies our needs just fine. I to was receiving 26+ when i first signed on, now i'm consistently under 10. Probably need to reset on their end. Thanks.

Plain old vanilla TWC, based on their test site:

27.20 Down
.98 Up

second try:

27.32 Down
.99 up

My "turbo" was getting slower and slower... finally was barely usable. Of course TWC kept telling me everything looked fine on their end, everything checked out. So finally they sent a tech out, and even tho my modem "checked out ok" they replaced the modem and everything sped up dramatically.

Tried three more tests, similar results.
