Hi my family and I are thinking about moving to mooresville ... We have been looking at the mooresville graded district. Can anyone please give me any feed back as too how good these schools are? How are they with special needs kids? Our son is elementary school. Any feedback would be wonderful! Thank you!,

I have overall been very pleased with MGSD.I've had one child graduate, one still in high school, and one in elementary.I don't have any complaints about the laptop program. The students are given one in the third grade to use throughout the year.Smartboards and computers in the classrooms for K-2.They DO!!! still use paper and pencils as well. There are other threads on the topic of the laptops that you should look up for others opinions.I have no personal experience to share as far special needs children but our district has a very good reputation for addressing those needs.Best of luck to you!

Thank you nchunter, In your oppinion do you feel the laptop program is unique or just an addition to the traditional classroom setting? I'm specific because we are moving to that area soon and my only worry with it is related to my kids being more on the artistic and creative side. Ages 5 and 7 they attend a charter montessori school here in FL and the style is very laid back, high exposure to nature, hands on science and creative thinking and writing. Do you think the laptop program is a stricter more "sit in your seat and type" way of learning? How would it work for kids like mine who are exposed to a very different way of learning?? Just wondering a parents view on it Thanks for your feedback.

If you are wanting a public school, Mooresville Graded is the top district in the Charlotte area. I don't live in Mooresville so can't speak about the schools from personal experience.

All public schools in NC take the federal AYP tests and last year the state upped the standards. Mooresville came out best followed by Union County & Cleveland County.
