I'm interested in which schools in Charlotte are performing arts schools or have a high concentration on the arts?? I know about Northwest but heard they may close down...any truth to this and are there any others??
Thanks for any input.

I have not heard Northwest is closing down - I doubt this is true as it is very popular.

My daughter went to Central Academy of Arts and Technology (CATA) in Monroe, it is a magnet school in the Union County Public Schools. They have Theatre, Dance, Medical Science academies. School is about 4 years old so it is very modern and there is wait list and I believe you have to make a 'presentation or preform' in the selection process.

You might want to contace the Childrens Playhouse in Charlotte. It has numerous performances by children. I think they could furnish recommendations. Or, perhaps contact Blumenthaue Performing Arts center.
