Dec 2 was the enrollment deadline to be eligible for this upcoming lottery, which ends on Monday Feb 13. Here is information from an email I received:
information about the Monday, Feb. 13, student-assignment lottery (magnet lottery) deadline. The first student-assignment lottery application period will end on Monday, Feb. 13 at 10 p.m. The student-assignment lottery is an online process, open daily from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. CMS will provide free computer access at the Family Application Center (700 Marsh Rd.) and at all zone offices. Computers at these locations will be available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lottery assignment notifications letters will be sent to families in late February. The letters give assignments through the lottery process and provide information on how to ask for reassignment. Students new to CMS in the 2012-2013 school year must have enrolled in the system by Dec. 2 to be eligible for the first lottery.
