Good news. A lot of IT folks will not consider working at a call center, however sometimes you can learn a great deal of information depending on what applications you might be supporting. The day goes by extremely fast too. Call centers usually offer much better experience than a desktop support position gains on the job. IMO

The hiring amount has been increase and I changed the title to reflect that.

Has anyone worked for this company? I'm thinking it might be good for my wife, she has zero IT skills but the job doesn't seem to only need IT.

Cincinnati-based Convergys held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its call center in Charlotte on Tuesday after completing a $1.8 million renovation there.
The customer-service company said it has added 1,650 jobs at its two Charlotte locations since announcing the expansion in February.

A recruiter once told my son that having Convergys on your resume is a sure dead-end to getting another job as it is not considered a reputable company in the business world...

I would think that as long as you didn't own the company it wouldn't matter on your resume. Are the big banks considered reputable companies?

FYI Convergys handles mostly inbound sales processing.. What little technical support it has are inbound sales agents using flowcharts..

How I Know: I've been in the Hickory office and passed all their testing which is entirely soft phone skill testing with it's entire emphasis on product sales..

Also.. You have a week to make x sales before you're fired, if you can make it through their HR filter which uses credit score and an interview

Subjective comments for sure, but a goggle search returns some very poor reviews. They appear to be bottom feeders.
