We went up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and watched a couple of guys fly radio controlled gliders off the top of a hill. Once launched, the updrafts kept the gliders up in the air indefinitely and the radio controls were for the flaps and rudder only (no propulsion). It was very fun to watch.

Once I feel ready to go out and terrorize the airfields, lol, I'll probably get this starter plane called the Champ for $89.99 which comes with a cheap controller. If I can find one without a controller it would be even cheaper.
Hey, if it's in the budget, go for the better stuff. But I'd definitely stick with a cheaper plane for a while, like the one you linked. You will crash, or faceplant a landing, hopefully sooner rather than later (while it's still fairly cheap).

Have fun!
