We just put a contract on a house in Weddington Chase. If all goes well, we should be there early this summer. Would love to hear what people think about the neighborhood, any information on the swim team and what people typically pay for a cleaning lady (5000sq/ft).

While we do not live there we seem to be in Weddington Chase often
My kids have many many friends that live in Weddington Chase, the people that do live there really like the area and the amount of kids.

I think you need to contact the HOA to find out about swim team..they start in May here and they had sign ups in may neighborhoods already, so you may be too late if you wait until you are here.
They should be able to give you the swim team coaches email.

Good luck with your move.

The swim season itself is all of June, but they do start "practices" in May. Beyond that, everyone I know in Weddington Chase loves it - they have a very cool pool with a slide and a nice play area (beach volleyball, tennis, playground, etc).

Nice upscale neighborhood... I did the tile work in a lot of the homes there, nice big floor plans. But what you get with the actual house you lose in the property aspect. VERY small lots.

Each lot is 1/2 acre or more, with most backing up into forest, so many lots would go well beyound 0.5 acres. I would not call it "very small"...

There are just under 300 houses with about 300 acres of land that belongs to the HOA. The rest of the land that is not part of each house actual backyard, consists of walking trails, ponds, 3 tennis courts, beach volleyball, kids playground, large swimming pool with slide, gardens, etc. The large community house has a large reception/party area with 3 levels including kitchen, gym, etc.

I live on 5 acres so to me .5 acres is very small. I guess it's all in what you consider a decent sized lot, and to me .5-1 acre is a small lot. But it is still enough land to get out and move around!!!!
