Just curious about this area. Birkdale village. Anyone familiar with it and how far is it from lake norman and charlotte? Is there a good gym near there and a good non-denominational church? Also is it a good area for singles, mid20s? Thanks

It's an outdoor mall basically. close to lake norman, but I don't know of any n-d churches, I am sure there are some.

Yes, there are apartments there. Some are on top of stores. You could actually live above a Victoria's Secret if you want.

There are apts. there. 2 miles from the lake. Non-den church would be about 5-10 mins from there. Can't think of the name of the top of my head...... Someone help it's right down the road from Home Depot...

Here's a great web site for Birkdale Village. It's a wonderful Planned Urban Community with 372 apartments and smaller single family communities around it.

Birkdale Village

It should tell you everything you need to know.

Don't forget Birkdale Village includes ample amounts of single family and townhomes in back of the shopping area. It's not just apartments.

I do know that availability for the apartments is not that great. When I called several months ago, the cheapest available was over $1200 a month!

Some of our friends (a young married couple) live in there for around 800/mo. while their house is being built in Mooresville. We love to visit, but as an older couple with kids, would not want to live there. It would be really fun for singles, I think.
