I am thinking of driving to Atlanta to catch a flight as its cheaper than CLT.

How many hours would you say the journey will take from South Charlotte?

Thanks

depends on traffic. Yahoo, Google, Map Quest all have directions with times, theirs are usually accurate for me, just leave extra for traffic and construction.

You could also park in dunwoody and take Marta to the airport. Not necessarily a time saver but an option on less driving.

Weekday or weekend? You will be entering Atl during rush hours if you start at 5 AM. Usually it takes us 4 hrs with no stops in between.

250 miles. At 70mph, you would be there in less than 4 hours depending on traffic.

Unfortunately Hartsfield is on the other side of ATL.

I recommend to the OP to look at RDU or GSP for cheaper flights.

Why is this thread titled "Driving to Charlotte"?

Flying out of Greensboro used to be a way to save money as well, and is an hour away.

I would need to be saving a bunch of money to warrant driving 8-10 hours.
