I am going to be doing some work in Salisbury from November to March and need to find a short term lease (3-4 months) under $900 within 30 minutes of Salisbury. I am trying to stay away from the extended stay hotels or corporate condos, etc for $12-1500/mo. How far south on 85 can I go and still be within 30 minutes of Salisbury in the morning?
Any help out there locating something would be appreciated.
Also, are there any YMCA's in the area?? Thanks folks. This is a really helpful forum.
There is a YMCA in the Rockwell/Faith area. I'm not sure about the city of Salisbury. You could DEFINITELY find an apartment for that in Salisbury or Lexington (the neighbor to the north). Concord is pricier, and availability is not great, at least for any decent apartments (or rather, they were hard to find back in August when I was looking!). Kannapolis also does not have great availability.
Salisbury has a brand new complex, Salisbury Village at Castlewood. I'm not sure if they do short term leases or not, but they range from 625-825. They are in a nicer area of Salisbury.
I know there is a complex in Rockwell that several people I work with live.
I work in Salisbury but commute from the Lake Norman area, so I am not all that familiar with the apartments!
As the previous poster mentioned, Kannapolis does not have great availability, but you would certainly get in under $900/monthly. More like $700.
There is a YMCA in Kannapolis. If you put in "mountain st at west c st kannapolis nc" on google maps, the arrow is just west of the YMCA.
Just east on that map, where you find the looproad is where Cannon Mills used to be (interestingly you can still see it in the satelitte view), and it is where they are building the new research center.
Hey, thank you for the info. I looked into the Norman area, but seems like the traffic and commute would be tough.
Thanks again.
