Ok thanks for explaining. Base on results for Meck I would guess most of votes was straight ticket voting as McCrory barely got his own county.
Also I voted No for all three bonds that passed in Huntersville, as at the time I dont see Huntersville needs it and that money will trickle down to us paying for something that is not needed at the time.
The street bond I dont see the city needs it as most of major throughfares are state roads. Hwy 73 is a breeze to get around with the widening and change in the intersection with 21.
If anything they should use this bond and redo the intersection with Gilead and 21 and 77 as it a mess with people getting off the interstate with only 500 ft of lane with the traffic on Gilead already.
The parks bond I do not see a use as every-time I have been to North Mecklenburg Park including weekends there is no one there and the equipment looks nice.
Publics bond, the land scaping looks good, the pedestrian walkways from where to where? or is going to be like the bike lanes only a mile then nothing.
The additional fire station ok that probably needed and I like Huntersville red & black trucks.
I voted No on those bonds too. I'd like to see them put in more sidewalks, but the way those bonds were worded, the money could have been spent on anything. That was my primary objection.
Huntersville needs to use the street bond and fix the bridge on McCoy Road near Gilead as it has been rough for over a decade. Also I dont think McCoy has ever been repaved except the added turn lane that I believe Saussy Burbank agree to when they built Gilead Village around 2002 with side walk & bike lane that end on both side of that subdivision.
Also they could street bond to put better signage in the buisness park 'The Park'. I dont know how many times I try to short cut from the hospital and try to turn by Gibbs racing to McCoy and miss my turn especially in the summer. Circle and circle I go
A great use of a park bond is to put an actual park in 'The Park' They could place a nice size park it in the wooded section in the middle of the loop.
I always see cyclists and runners using this low traffic area for exercise.
I agree public bond better sidewalks that are more continuous rather just by development.
I will forever hate them tearing down those beautiful large trees on Gilead for developer Ghazi shopping center & Walgreens that so close to road that its impossible to put a side walk on that side.
