My husband got a great flight to his job interview...He is flying in late Thursday night for Friday morning interview. If he stays at a hotel at the airport Thursday night how long will it take to get from airport to Main street DAvidson? He has to be there at 8am.. Or would it be better/cheaper to drive from airport Thursday night and stay in Davidson?? ANy suggestions on places to stay in Davidson.

I would suggest driving to Davidson. I am sure a google would show many choices of hotels. I wish I knew a nice way to say this, but Charlotte airport is not as nice a place to stay the night as Davidson.

Davidson village inn is right on Main Street if they have rooms available. There is also a homewood suites a mile from the campus. The airport is 30 minutes with no traffic but traffic on 77 in the lake area can be unpredictable. I would recommend staying in davidson for an early morning interview.

I think you'll be happy with the Homewood Suites. Our company guests stay there and they have great reviews.

Tell him to be sure he obeys the speed limits in Davidson. The police are extremely good at ticketing!

But he would be going against the majority of the traffic, which is going South.
Traffic volume is worst around Huntersville area.

Homewood Suites is the new one, right? It should be very nice but will be a long walk (better to drive) in the morning to Main Street.

edit... I just checked. It is actually a little over a mile, so not that bad a walk depending on where he is going on Main St, the weather and how a person feels about walking.

That's the Homewood Suites on Griffin St, down the block from Davidson Day School & Harris Teeter? Not too bad for walking & there are sidewalks. If that's booked, there's hotels 2 exits up (exit 33), I think a SpringHill Suites.

YES...make sure to drive the speed limit in Davidson. The police will pull you over if you don't!

That's true. But one accident can back things up really quickly even on the weekends.
