Where I'm from, it's common practice to have a public dayschool associated with the local elementary schools--almost a "Headstart Program". I was wondering if there were any in the Union County area?

My LO turns 2 shortly and his current daycare/nanny situation only accommodates to 2 years old.

I looked on beelocal.com (Preschools and Head Start Programs - Education - Union County, NC 28079 | BeeLocal) and several of the schools show that they offer public preschools but the websites are near impossible to navigate so I can't seem to figure out if they accommodate pre-school aged children or just Pre-K kids. Can anyone give insight?

I've looked into some of the local daycare/preschools but they require a full time status and my child would only need part time and frankly I don't think it's necessary to charge $1600/month for daycare. It's nuts. Anyway, any guidance and help would be greatly appreciated.

It's very hard to get into the preschool with the school district, and I'm not aware of anyone doing it for anything besides 4 year old preschool, although I don't know for sure. There are plenty of local preschools that are part time though. I don't know where you are getting that number, but I only pay about $200 a month for mine.
