I currently live in S. Charlotte, Ballantyne Area, and was looking for a nice hang out for a Fri/Sat night. I don't want loud club music, just background music and a casual atmosphere. Ideas?

Ballantyne Village is also fun. Try the Under the Grape Wine bar.

There's a great irish pub in the new shopping center at the corner of Tom Short and I forget the name of the other road. Just turn onto TS and take it all the way down the the 4 way intersection (past Stone Creek Ranch). The shopping center will be right across the intersection. If you're really into the pub atmosphere and having a good beer, then this is a good place.
G' luck and hope this doesn't get me another repremand for telling you.

Oh yeah, The Yellow Rose is another good one. Very relaxed atmosphere. You got a stiff collar? You'll be out of place. Great beer specials on Tuesdays I think it is.

Love Under The Grape or Table/Villa Antonio Bars are all nice. On The Rocks is a Martini Bar in Ballantyne. O'Sheas or Sterling's in The Fountains.

Under the Grape is really cool, so is Village Bistro on the first level. Also check out Encore and Brixx Pizza down at Blakeny. It's really cool to be able to bar hop now without having to go all the way down town.
