Smelled it last night - when it's foggy and a really low cloud ceiling, and the wind blows from the west, you can pick up the "scent" - but it's very, very rare....maybe once every 2 months...

Default Also looking in Lawson

We're starting to make plans for relocating to Charlotte and everything we've read about Lawson has been great. First priority is school district, have 2 preschoolers. Saw some odd posts on the sewer plant in Cureton, that seems to be driven by some posters that have published conflicting messages on other forums. Trying to get to the truth on this one.

Making a visit the 1st week of Feb to start our search. All suggestions greatly appreciated.

Mike, I rented in Cureton and bought in Lawson - My .02 is I definitely smelled it regularly and strong at times....Here in Lawson, I rarely smell it ever, but I'd be lying if I said NEVER...Like I said, when there's a thick low fog/clouds and the winds from the West, you can catch the smell, but it's never strong and doesn't permeate the house like it did in cureton.

I am also in Lawson, but not there all the time. Last summer the Wife said she thought she smelled it at one point, I couldnt smell anything. Either she is oversensitive or I am in denial..either way, it doesnt seem to be an issue in lawson. Good luck it is a great and beautiful community.

I have been in Lawson for 2.5 years, I agree with the poster about it not being an issue but every once in a long while you can smell it. Not potent but just a hint and not very often at all and we are always outside....You will not have any problems here in Lawson.

New Middle & High schools will open Aug 09 so your kids will never be redistricted since the schools are so close...Eventually when the housing picks up again they will build an Elementary school on the same property.

Thank you everyone for the replies! The redistricting issue was a concern for us as well.
