I am planning a trip today to the Greek Festival. Not familiar with the area it's in, I saw on their site that the buses are highly recommended and it stops right at the entrance of their festival. Great! Only issues is that my husband doesn't want to wait for 2 buses or else we are driving there.
Every single park and ride I find requires at least 2 transfers with at least 15 minute wait. Then I found one on Park Road thinking it was the address near the mall and it was one bus. Perfect. Double checked the address and it wasn't near the mall. So I changed the address to further south on Park Road. Bam, 2 transfers. Aren't there any buses that go straight up Park Road?
I then thought of Freedom Park on East Blvd. Nope, two transfers. No buses go straight down East Blvd to the festival.
Sigh, every one I try, the trip planner thwarts me and adds transfers. I give up!

I dont know where you are coming from to give you best route but why not park at Park Road Shopping Center and take bus 19. Or park at Metropolitan and take bus 6
Freedom Park is option bus 6 or hike it.

Both show having to walk and get a transfer. I am trying to find a direct route? Do they both go straight to 600 East Blvd?
Park Road Shopping Center and Freedom Park both show at least 1 if not 2 transfers to the festival according to the trip planner.

Okay never mind, I remembered Google had a bus option and tried it with that. The CATS trip planner doesn't show me bus 19 or direct routes. But google did. I see few options using the google maps. Thanks Sunny!

East blvd is the last stop on the schedule for #19 before transportation center, you can board it at the mall or Quail Corners too.
Once the bus turns on Euclid from whatever side street (Magnolia maybe) from Park Road let the driver know you want off at East Blvd it only a two block hike to the Greek church.
The weekend buses run every 30 minutes so plan accordingly I remember when it was hourly. When I first moved to Charlotte I use to live near Quail Corners and attend another church on East Blvd is why Im so familiar with that bus
I hope this works it might be using the cache on my pc

CATS covers the city pretty well, but Saturday service has always been spotty.
I will give them some slack that Charlotte is laid out like a spiderweb and it's not easy to get around without at least 1 transfer.

We ended up missing the bus. And it's hourly. I guess the CATS schedule is not updated on the website as we were there at 12:00 and it didn't come. Some people that were there said it had come 10 minutes before. We drove instead and parked on East/Scott intersection and walked. I have to call and figure out which is the updated schedule as the google bus options doesn't match the CATS site/times etc. There are a couple of things I want to do next week and try to do the park and ride to uptown.
We are stuffed on pastichio and baklava. Groan.

It's only a short walk from the light rail stop at East Blvd!

I have no idea where the light rail is. I am coming from the Southeast part of Charlotte. Way down here where public transportation is more of a park and ride type.
