Our family is planning to relocate to NC from Florida. We are looking for a specific type of school for our children, and we found one in Mooresville and another one in Concord.

We are moving from FL because we desire a slower-paced, less congested, family-friendly atmosphere. Which area do you think will better provide this for us?

Also, I have preschool-age children as well, and I would love to hear of preschool recommendations in either of those areas.

Thank you,
Maria

They both have a lot of similarities. I would suggest a visit and see which one feels right to you. Maybe check out both schools too and see which one you like better. Are there any other factors that may help us to point you in the right direction such as job location?

Not a ton of difference between the two IMO, we live in Mooresville but go to Concord quite often. I second visiting the area one weekend and spending time riding around both. Do you know anyone in the area that could give you a tour to get a real feel for both versus driving by the huge mall in Concord or down Highway 150 in Mooresville which isn't what either place is all about but what most people visiting would be drawn to initially probably.

I agree with the posts above - very similar in a lot of ways. Concord has a section along its border with Charlotte that can be really congested - it's where the outlet mall and racetrack are, and a few times a year the traffic can be hard to deal with. That said, Concord has a really charming downtown, beautiful parks, and a lot of nice neighborhoods - if you check out Concord, make sure to look beyond the Speedway Blvd area!
