We are in the market for home owners insurance. We have used Allstate in the past, but are open to recommendations. Thank you!

I've been using Auto-Owners. They don't seem to do any cross-marketing with other companies so I get very little junk mail or spam. They just take my checks. In 11 years I've never encountered an inspector getting nosy and looking around my properties. I like being left alone, LOL

I used an agent out of Marshville named Debbie Staton. Never been to Marshville or met her in person, but let me tell you... one of the best decisions I've made regarding my house. As I'm a first-time owner, I needed somebody wonderful, and I found that. My policy is actually through Utica, and it was a much better price than I was quoted with the Allstate agent I used for my renter's insurance. My current premium is 40% less than the other quote, and Griffin-Staton was receptive to modifying the coverage amount, which Allstate was VERY adamantly against.. Plus, GS is a small agency with a personal feel and I don't get blasted with a bunch of form emails and have to get transferred 6 times to get an answer, if I ever need to call.

We have Geico for our homeowners ... ASI (American Strategic Insurance) is the underwriter. Unfortunately we have little history with the company, so can't comment on how a claim is handled (have only had them for a year), but no problems with communication and billing thus far.
