I'm not sure if this is true, but apparently Donald Trump is going to break ground on the "Golden Spire", a 160-story building with "the top 20 floors will be reserved for Trump’s personal living quarters and guest penthouses, there will be over 1,000 residential condos that will be available to anyone who Trump dreams worthy. Square footage will range from just under 400 square foot for “Silver Trump Lofts” up to 1,225 square foot “Diamond Trump Lofts”. Prices for the loft condos will range from $899,900 to $4,800,000. The first two stories at the base of the 160 story building will be home to Trump’s personal retail stores, including a new branch of Trump Residential Realty and Trump Steaks."

I think the building looks extremely out of place, but could you imagine the building boom if this happens?

Though - really - last year the trumps said they were interested in a property on North Tryon.

I wish he would build here. I bet a Trump office tower would help somewhat with Economic developments.

At one time Donald Trump was looking to build a skyscraper in Uptown Charlotte. And had said recently they may still be interested. So we shall see.

I just read an article that said Trump was going to build that very tower here in Charlotte. Of course, the zoning department, city council, and several other local and state agencies took issue, but a suitcase full of cash was all it took to get old Patrick Cannon up and moving! Be ready for ground breaking, folks! Full speed ahead!
