Did you mean Scaleybark? Where the large park and ride lot is and the green space to the left when heading north on the train?

Pappas was chosen back in the day to redevelop it in a fashion much like Southend. But that got derailed with the economy.

There's the old presentation. Check out Pappas slide which is the last of the development proposals. While unlikely it'd all get built at once, that's still about the scale one would expect to get built there today. The only difference is a Harris Teeter was supposed to be part of the development. With their announcement at the Sedgefield Shopping Center I doubt it would be part of the Scaleybark redevelopment.

Yes thank you for the correction . Wow i just took a look at that doc that you sent. That would've been amazing. It just bothers me because that's a prime location and it wasn't goggled up yet lol. Ill try and get a picture of the(coming soon) sign to see if there's any more info on it and ill post it up here.

Crosland's office was at South & Scaleybark and they still own all that land on both side of the tracks up to I want to say the Clanton intersection. So that whole area is in play including the Autozone and small shopping center. SouthEnd's TOD presence is moving it's way down to New Bern. Once all those parcels are filled (which it's getting close) then Scaleybark will be the next for TOD development.

There's a new push to turn the North Tryon/Graham/Statesville ave corridor, into a "North End":

The turbine seems to be a big disappointment as far as easing traffic flow on 85.
I commute from 85 north to 485 outer loop every day at rush hour and had hoped the entrance opening up would help but its making no difference at all that I can see.
Having only one lane to exit onto each long ramp is ridiculous and will just make things worse if someone breaks down or has an accident on the entrance.

So far it looks like a tremendous waste of money.

It doesn't look like the construction has finished. I haven't taken 85 north past Mallard Creek Church Rd in a long while. I do drive 85 south on a daily basis from Poplar Tent on my way to Uptown. I do know that 85 south has three lanes that force you to exit onto 485. Could it be that they haven't opened all lanes going North bound on 85 to 485? I hope they wouldnt have 3 lanes for the southbound traffic going onto 485 and only 1 lane going north bound on 85 to 485.

I'm very excited about this...

I will be able to walk to this from my house.
