Hi,
I had my ACL reconstructed using hamstring graft in October'13. It's nearly 6 months after surgery. I just recently moved to Charlotte from Los Angeles. I was undergoing extensive physical her apt there. According to my previous therapist he said I would need more single leg strengthening and agility training for 3 to 4 months to be stronger than I was before injury.
I met a doctors today and he didn't really care about any therapy and said I am fine as it is. This was what my therapist in LA mentioned that people do not understand the importance of continued therapy and if you reach the 6 the month mark they term you as normal. I myself know I am not quite normal. Can you please help in finding an excellent therapist who focuses on getting back my strength. I used to be a dancer and would love to continue playing tennis and other sports activities for leisure without the concern of re- injuring myself.
Call the Charlotte Neurosurgery and Spine. I had a pinched nerve issue. First course of action was physical therapy vs injections or worst case - surgery. Their physical therapy people put my on a recovery routine with exercises (daily for the rest of my life) and the issue slowly corrected. I highly recommend them. For an ACL rehab, you'd be better off going with Ortho Carolina. Doctors, clinic and PT's are all 1st rate and provide excellent care.
