We are looking to move to the area and have found 3 homes that we like. They are comparable in price and square footage. Can anyone tell me your thoughts on these neighborhoods with respect to having 3 young children (ages 8, 6, and 3)? Are there children in the neighborhoods these ages?

Also thoughts on the neighborhoods in general? I know that Providence Downs South apparently got hit with mortgage fraud a while back. I read several posts about it. But how is the neighborhood viewed now? Has it bounced back from that?

We also found a 4th home that we like in Weddington Chase that is at a lower price point. It is a beautiful home but the one thing that we don't like about it is that the kitchen/family room are not open. The rooms are more compartmentalized. Thoughts on Weddington Chase compared to the other 3 neighborhoods? I know it is at a lower price point but is it more young child friendly?

Everything is fine.

PDS has it's gates working. And has $1+ million houses for sale and will go Marvin. PDS is fine.

Kingsmead will go Marvin.

Weddington Chase is fine but is going to Weddington.

What do you mean when you say "Everything is fine"? Are you just referring to the schools? I'm not concerned about the schools for these neighborhoods. I know they are all good. I'm more concerned with overall general value of the neighborhoods and whether there are young children for my kids to play with.

Is the house in PD on one of the main roads in the community? Many people use PD as a cut through. So make sure the home is not located on a main road in the community.
There are many kids in all 4 communities. Kingsmeade shares HOA/pool with Hunter Oaks, which has 2 pool locations. They all have very active pools in the upcoming summer months, even neighborhood swim teams which is great.

Stay off MoW in PD.

PdS fraud is old news. Really old news.

Weddington is going Weddington.

The home is not on one of the main roads in Prov Downs.

All 3 are great neighborhoods... Weddington Chase is tract built (albeit Weiland). Providence Downs and PD South are custom homes. That's one of the main differences in price point. The fraud issue is long past.

They all are filled with kids, PD and PDS go to Marvin Ridge. WC goes to Weddington. Both great schools. So it really comes down to personal preference.

While a beautiful neighborhood, Kingsmead is smallest (fewest homes & no own pool) - although nicely placed close enough to other larger neighborhoods.

Cannot go wrong with any of the 4 (including WC), lots of kids and facilities to make sure your kids will have lots of friends. We have friends on PD & WC and personally I prefer WC due to wonderful walking trails and overall look and feel.

Kingsmead has a community pool -- Hunter Oaks. I think the biggest differences between Kingsmead and PD/PDS are lot sizes.
