Does anyone have any experience as a seller with lease purchases/options to buy contracts? If push comes to shove and we haven't sold our home before we move to Maryland, I'm thinking about going this route to tap into a broader buyer's market. Seems like a better way to go than flat out renting the place.

just signed the agreement last weekend with my potential buyer......18 mos agreement, it was the first thing that came along (tried just selling, then for sale or rent, and this lease purchase offer came through, perfect!). Hopefully things will go smoothly, at least it's money coming in every month instead of going out! Actually we hadn't owned the house that long (less than a year) so we're not actually making anything, and are losing a bit every month, but not nearly as much as still waiting for someone to purchase it!

Good luck
