An odd thread I know and one I wish I didn't have to start. A) because I have a perception of injury attorneys, and its not real good, and B) I wish none of this happened.

But I think I may need one.

Walking to work Uptown today, an SUV pulled out of an underground parking deck, came to a complete stop, then lurched forward, hitting me while I was crossing in front, on the sidewalk. Then left the scene while onlookers yelled after him.

I am not seriously injured (in my opinion; I see my doc tomorrow). I did not require an ambulance that is. But I am in pain and neither the property management firm, parking firm, company that owns the building (happens to be my company), nor the Police seem very sympathetic (in fact, the Police said I actually could be charged with hit-and-run/leaving the scene as the pedestrian since I left the scene after conversing with my company's building security, but did not call the Police immediately).

I want real advice and counsel, not some "ambulance chaser." I am a very easy going guy and not litigious in the slightest. But I am upset, in pain, and want someone to talk to that is honest, compassionate and not slimy.

Does that exist?

Any advice is appreciated?

I would HIGHLY recommend to try to contact H. Stanley Harris. He does not advertise, does not take cases that he believes to be of no merit-- here's the contact info, and is very fair. He will work to get you what he can but won't promise you a million dollar settlement. (I was shocked he had a website even-- but he does not even put his picture on it, unlike the slimy attorneys, LOL!)

This is terrible!! So sorry to hear you were treated this way. What in the world is wrong with some people???

Did anyone get the license plate of this idiot? By all means, seek legal counsel - and feel better soon

Oh, and I would recommend Bill Diehl's firm just on things I've heard and read, no personal experience I'm afraid.
