Does anyone know the cost to clear about one acre of land? Land is slightly hilly. Large trees - looks like a forest!! I don't know what type of trees they are. thank you!
Do logging companies do parcels that small? It would also depend on the type of wood too, I would suspect.
That's true, one acre isn't much. I know some people around here that had 10 acres cut, but that's about the smallest I've heard of. It wouldn't hurt to ask some local logging companies. They might do it for free or for a small fee if they keep the timber.
Timber companies usually want "several" acres to offer you value for the lumber. A "land clearer" will charge you to haul away or chip the trees.
If the trees are mostly pine, then it's first growth forest that sprung up after the last was last cleared 20-40 or so years ago. If the trees are mostly hardwood then it's going to be thicker forest and more expense.
If you clear one acre or more you must have a grading permit!
