Hello all,

My family is planning to move to Charlotte in mid-June. My office is in 28262, so I am looking for an apt in the same area. I was referred to Autumn Park apartments and The Vinoy at Innovation Park. But I also found that both these apts have frequent crimes (esp. mugging and break-ins).

Can anyone from these apts share their experiences regarding safety there?

Zip codes cover large areas in Charlotte. You're better off looking at an online map to see where you'll be working and which apartment is close.

Furthermore, your office might be 100 yrds from a neighboring zip that might ultimately be more desirable.

These 2 apts are near my office, Autumn Park apartments and The Vinoy at Innovation Park. Already looked in google maps.

Can anyone from these apts share their experiences regarding safety there?

Vinoy is nice right and seems safe, and Autumn Park is pretty nice also. Look over 1 street right on Mallard Creek and there is 1 right next to Harris Teeter.

I used to make think it was safe. That is until last weekend when all my electronics were stolen from my apartment. They came in, didn't riffle through anything, just went directly to where everything was and took it. You would think they already knew where everything was had a key to the apartment.

Well, despite the actions of a select few (which, by the way can happen in any part of town), the area the OP mentioned is safe in my opinion. I have lived off of Neal Road for the past 10 years, and aside from a few nuckleheads getting in trouble here and there, I haven't seen an abundance of criminal activity. You'll be fine in the places that you've stated... Best of luck in your decisions! Welcome to Charlotte, friend.
