Anyone on here familiar with this school? I know its not affiliated with any local university..Just wondering how tough it would be to get a job from a non traditional law school if I decided to attend..

Thanks!

I would not characterize it as non-traditional as much as I would characterize it as a private institution. There are plenty of law schools with similar models. A partnership with UNCC and Queens is in the works as well.

It is brand new, ABA accred should be complete by the spring term. With a strong academic record and hopefully a strong internship if possible, you should have no problem landing a job.

I know nothing about this particular school, but do know that in other states this type of private law school does exist. I'm not sure why this is the first in Charlotte - perhaps because we already have Wake, Duke and Chapel Hill. In St, Paul where my family lives, there is a very reputable law school called the William Mitchell College of Law which currently boasts several judges and top trial lawyers as its graduates. Although the University of Minnesota Law School is more prestigious, the Billy Mitchell school, as it fondly known, is not a slacker and is well-attended.

As long as the school gets its accreditation, you should be fine getting a job somewhere. That said, the top firms in NC are still going to recruit most heavily from the top schools in NC - the alumni networks are strong, and there won't be Charlotte School of Law alums out there yet to help you.
