Well Charlotte has 2 so you were almost correct, the other 2 in NC are in Raleigh. Does Jordan even count if his primary residence is in FL? Again who cares and yes Chicago again proves their economoy and business clout are much more than Charlotte could even dream of at this point. Poverty or not Chicago is a world class city for business and money.
I see your other posts about Fayetteville and things and I just wonder what it is you are smoking.

Charlotte’s only other billionaire resident is businessman Spangler, according to the magazine, which calculated his net worth at $2.3 billion.
There are 4 in the state. Again delusional

The ones in Charlotte-
Micheal Jordan NET WORTH 1.0 billion
Ollen Smith NET WORTH 1.6 billion
Clemmie Spangler Jr NET WORTH 2.3 billion
Leon Levine & family NET WORTH 1.0 billion
Actually Chicago (city) sprawls over 240 sq miles. This compares to Charlotte at 290 sq/miles. The difference is not nearly as large as stated.
Median Household Income
Chicago - $47,408
Charlotte - $52,916
New York - $51,865
It's pretty clear why the middle class is abandoning places like Chicago & New York. There is some horrible poverty and people living in dire circumstances in Chicago. I admit, Charlotte has nothing to compare to that.
Chicago's "spawl" isn't really sprawl because it's mostly urbanized and concentrated. There is huge metropolitan region that extends way beyond that and would dwarf the Charlotte metro.

eh, Chicago metro is over 11,000 square miles, which is over 1/5th of the state of North Carolina, and extends to Wisconsin and Indiana with 9.9 million people, which Illinois has 12 million people, while Charlotte metro is only 3,000 square miles, which only extends into South Carolina, with the principal cities being Charlotte, Concord, Gastonia, and Rock Hill with about 2.5 million people. Chicago metro is 1,318 per square mile, while Charlotte metro is 951.2 per square mile.

People are comparing apples and oranges here. The "city" of Charlotte is mostly suburbs, whereas the city of Chicago is mostly just that, the city. The Chicago suburbs are separate jurisdictions not within the Chicago city limits. Like any urban district, there are wealthy parts and working class parts. And almost all of the city of Chicago is the urban district. Beyond that, outside of the city limits, are upper and upper middle class suburbs. A better comparison is state versus state where you get a better idea of the big picture. Jimmysmile posted a great link.

You can see there that in the state of Illinois, 33 out of 1000 households are millionaires. Illinois is ranked #11 in concentration of millionaires. In North Carolina, only 26 out of every 1000 households are millionaires. NC is ranked #34. These are the top ten states with the highest number of millionaires per capita:
1. Hawaii 43.1
2. New Jersey 42.5
3. Connecticut 41.4
4. Maryland 39.1
5. Massachusetts 37.1
6. California 35.7
7. Delaware 34.7
8. Virginia 34
9. New York 33.6
10. Florida 33.6
And these are the bottom ten states with the smallest number of millionaires per capita:
41. Oklahoma 24.2
42. North Dakota 23.7
43. Alabama 24.2
44. South Dakota 23.6
45. Louisiana 23.1
46. Montana 22.9
47. Arkansas 22.8
48. Kentucky 22.4
49. West Virginia 22
50. Mississippi 21.5

Okay this thread is turning ridiculous. Billionaires have an extremely small impact on local economies. Besides, most of them are traders so they could live on an island in the middle of the ocean and make the same amount of money, the distribution of money among inhabitants is what makes a city, not a select few with an insane income.
Exactly. The 240 sq. miles of the city of Chicago is only a tiny piece of the 11,000 square miles of Chicagoland. I would not consider those 240 sq. miles sprawl. I've flown over it. It's very urban. The 290 sq. miles of city of Charlotte sprawl is mostly trees.
Now look at NC? Only technically has 3, give 4 for Jordan. Again you are incorrect. This article is new, not from 2005.
