Hi all, getting closer to my closing date and wanted to start calling insurance companies for coverage. Anyone know what companies offer coverage in Mooresville? Or anyone have good/ bad things to say about companies? I'm new to the area and would appreciate any help. Odd question I know but I live in South Florida right now and it's impossible to get insurance here. Everyone keeps dropping their coverage. Don't want to waste time calling people that don't service the area. Thanks in advance!

There are quite a few companies that offer Homeowners Insurance. Many of them are the same that you may have your auto insurance under and may offer a "multiple policy" discount. My past clients have used Progressive, Liberty Mutual and State Farm just to mention a few.

I would start with a web search then make some phone calls. Let your fingers do the walking.

Good luck and congrats on your new home!

first quote should be from your existing auto insurance company... they might provide home insurance, and with combined deal.. you might get cheap rates

You won't have problems finding homeowner's insurance here like you do in FL. You should start with your auto insurance carrier. All the major insurance companies here also write homeowner's policies. You will be pleasantly surprised at the difference in rates here!

I'd check with Nationwide. I had State Farm on another home and 2 vehicles and they couldn't compete with the quote I got from Nationwide.

I had State Farm when we lived in South FL for car insurance and Citizens for homeowners. I priced State Farm in my area in NC for car and home insurance. Prices didn't flex much on vehicle and home insurance was like $1100/yr.

I ended up with Nationwide Insurance who insured my home for $617/yr and doubled my coverage on my autos and cut the rates in half from what State Farm wanted.
